I’m better off with coffee
I’m better off with my morning pill
I’m better off with sunshine
I’m better off with a morning walk of 1500 steps or more
I’m better off with weights lifted and heart pumping at least twice a week
I’m better off if I go to the workshop or training, apply the new skill, and share what I’m learning with others
I’m better off if I listen more
I’m better off if I ask questions
I’m better off if I think twice before hitting send
I’m better off when I write
When I reach out
When I sleep well
When I speak clearly
I’m better off

This is an interesting, reflective post. I’m looking at the unrolling month from between my fingers, appalled by all that needs to happen–I mean…all that I need to do. Thanks for the reminder to consider what makes me “better off” so I’m in a position to move forward a little more steadily. These are my favorite lines: “I’m better off if I listen more
I’m better off if I ask questions
I’m better off if I think twice before hitting send” Hope sleep comes more easily soon!

It is good to know that we are better off in do many ways.

So many favorite lines… but especially this stanza:
“ I’m better off if I listen more
I’m better off if I ask questions
I’m better off if I think twice before hitting send”
Those words are certainly written to me! And yes, I think all slicers would agree we are better off when we write.
This poem would be an interesting format for our kids. I’d be curious to see what they would write!

So many great phrases, but I love this.
“I’m better off if I go to the workshop or training, apply the new skill, and share what I’m learning with others”
as it is different from your shorter, more focused stanzas!

A lot of good advice here. I’m better off if I think twice before hitting send ~always! I’m better off if i write ~so true but so hard for me once the challenge is over. I am always better off with sunshine but my location is often gray. Sorry for your insomnia. Sleep well tonight.

Your line “I’m better off if I listen more” is definitely something we all could stand to do more of. We rush and rush through our days doing so much that we forget to listen, sometimes to ourselves and what we need. Take care of yourself.
